The Hewitt-Trussville High School cross-country teams finished up the season Saturday, Nov. 10, at Oakville Indian Mounds Park.
The girls team qualified for the state meet and put together an impressive fourth-place finish, as the Huskies tallied 151 points, just ahead of Baker (152) and Hoover (156).
Maci Mills led the way for the Huskies, as she crossed the 5K finish line in 19 minutes, 38 seconds, good enough for 23rd overall. Teammate Mia Cane finished right behind her in 24th, with a time of 19:42.84. Amelia Brady was also in the top 30, coming in 27th in 19:51.91.
Other racers for the Huskies were Sophia Knox (36th, 20:14), Olivia Browning (59th, 20:52), Kaley Grace Howard (81st, 21:25), Sophie Bryant (83rd, 21:28), Ellie Kate Jones (111th, 22:29), Sarah Cannon (115th, 22:36) and Kylee Glenn (146th, 23:48).
Three Huskies boys qualified as individuals, thanks to their performances at the Section 3 meet the week prior.
Aaron Himes led those three with a 25th-place finish, as he crossed the line in 16:26. Nathan Knox was 36th (16:34), and Aaron Dykes came home 60th (17:12).
