Jeremiah Castille is the featured speaker for the 2023 Trussville Mayor's Prayer Breakfast.
Trussville Mayor Buddy Choat recently announced the annual Trussville Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast will be held Friday, August 4, at the Trussville Civic Center. Hosted by the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce, the breakfast is a gathering of elected officials, church leaders, school administrators, members of the business community and civic-minded individuals for a time of prayer.
“With so many troubling things going on in our world today, I believe that prayer is more important than ever,” Choat said. “It is my hope that inviting people from different backgrounds and denominations to gather and pray will promote unity and serve as a step toward building a better future for our community and country.”
Jeremiah Castille, founder of the Jeremiah Castille Foundation, is the featured speaker.
For six years, Castille played in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Denver Broncos. As a member of the Broncos, he played in Super Bowl XXII. Throughout his professional career, his purpose in life became clearer. His experiences led him to mentor, coach and encourage at-risk youth. In 1999, he and his wife Jean founded the Jeremiah Castille Foundation, a non-profit organization. The foundation’s mission is based on the biblical scripture Isaiah 61:1-4, which speaks of preaching good tidings to the poor, healing the broken-hearted, proclaiming liberty to the captives, opening prison doors to those who are bound and glorifying the Lord through preaching. The foundation’s vision is to invest, influence, impact and inspire lives so they will rebuild and restore generations.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to the Jeremiah Castille Foundation.
Reservations for the prayer breakfast are required and may be made by calling 205-655-7535 or visiting www.trussvillechamber.com/event/mayors-prayer-breakfast. Individual seats are $15 and a reserved table for eight is $175.
