The Hewitt-Trussville High School boys cross-country team finished third at the Class 7A state meet on Nov. 9, 2024.
The Hewitt-Trussville High School cross-country teams excelled at the Class 7A state tournament Nov. 9 in Moulton.
The Huskies boys finished third as a team. Noah Jordan led the way for Hewitt, earning all-state honors with his eighth-place honor individually. He ran his race in 15 minutes, 42 seconds.
John Paul Amari finished 17th overall, running the race in 16:16. Lelan Neal was 19th in 16:17, Jackson Morris was 30th in 16:32, and Gabe Knoxk was 34th overall in 16:36.
Hewitt’s girls finished fifth in the team standings. Hadley Turner and Mary Durham were the all-state honorees for the team. Turner ran fifth overall with a time of 18:56. Durham finished right behind her in sixth with a time of 18:58.
Natalie Wiram was the next Hewitt runner, finishing 33rd in 20:03. Leah Anderson ran in 20:35, while Elizabeth King finished in 20:41.
The Huskies performed well at the section meet the week prior, with the boys placing second and the girls placing fourth as a team.
