The Alabama Sports Writers Association released its weekly high school football poll Wednesday morning.
Hewitt-Trussville jumped a spot to No. 7 in the Class 7A poll, while Clay-Chalkville dropped to No. 6 in 6A. The Huskies took an open date, while Clay-Chalkville suffered a 28-14 loss to Vestavia Hills. It is the final poll of the season, with the state playoffs beginning this week.
In the opening round of the playoffs, Hewitt-Trussville is traveling to Baker on Friday, while Clay-Chalkville hosts Gadsden City.
