Lauren Deibert was named the 2025-26 Hewitt-Trussville High School Teacher of the Year. Deibert, a Spanish teacher, was selected from over 700 nominations. She will now go on to compete for District Teacher of the Year. “She's a phenomenal woman and just an amazing teacher,” said Aaron King, the principal of Hewitt-Trussville.
Erin Elseroad and Amy Brown received awards at the A+ Computer Science Fall Conference last week. These awards were based on the results of the May 2024 AP exams. Brown won the Above ALl Award for having results that were above the Alabama mean. Elseroad won the Prestige Worldwide Award for having results that were above the global mean.
The Students of the Month for September were announced in October. Students from each grade level at HTHS who illustrated strong character, responsibility, academic achievement or leadership were honored. The winners were:
- Freshmen: Erin Coleman and Kai Sugita
- Sophomores: Angelina Dailey and Whit Lincoln
- Juniors: Gabi Boyette and Angelica Nguyen
- Seniors: Josh Falola and Brooks Seeley
