Dec. 1: Community Caroling and Tree Lighting. 4-6 p.m. West Mall in Trussville, close to the Christmas tree. Make plans to attend the annual Community Caroling and Tree Lighting event on the historical mall in Trussville. Gather for hot chocolate, carols, cookies and other Christmas activities. Santa will also be there to visit with the kids. This free event is a perfect way to kick off the Christmas season in Trussville. The mayor and Santa will light the tree. Dec. 14: Designs for Hope Christmas Run 2024. 8 a.m. Clearbranch Methodist Church, 8051 Glenn Road. Get ready for Christmas with a 5K fun run to support the Designs For Hope Ethiopian Water Project. Dec. 14: Trussville Christmas Parade. 2 p.m. The mall area in Historic Trussville. This year's parade theme is "The Spirit of Christmas.” The parade will begin on Parkway Drive, turn right onto Gadsden Highway and right again onto Chalkville Road. The parade will end after it passes by the Christmas tree at the Mall. Entries are encouraged but not required to take part in the theme for the float competition. Prizes will be awarded for Best Interpretation of Theme, Most Original, Most Innovative, Best Overall, Best Walking Group, Chamber's Choice and several honorable mentions. Dec. 2: Santa’s Workshop. 5-7 p.m. Come visit Santa at the library. Craft stations and hot cocoa will be provided (while supplies last). Santa will be available for photos from 5 to 7 p.m. A staff member will be available to take photos with your camera or device if needed. All ages.
Dec. 3: Friends of the Trussville Library Meeting. 11 a.m. to noon. Join us for the monthly meeting. This group’s members support library staff by providing extra hands for special events and money for programs and prizes! Ages 18 and older.
Dec. 3: Video Games for Kids. 5-6 p.m. Join us for a Super Smash Bros video game tournament just for kids! Tournament games will be played on the big screen with the Nintendo Switch. A secondary game console will be set up for extra turns. Light snacks provided. Registration is required. Grades K-5.

Dec. 10: Ukulele Club. 6:30-7:30 pm. Interested in learning the ukulele or looking for somewhere to play? We have a professional ukulele player here to help you learn and perfect your skills! All ages.
Dec. 10: Chuck and the Christmas Combo. 6:30-8 p.m. Chuck King and his pals get us in the Christmas spirit with some Christmas tunes! For over 50 years, Chuck has been playing music, sharing his talent and entertaining folks of all ages with his timeless take on big band, traditional and New Orleans jazz. All ages.
