After closing its doors in March due to COVID-19, Trussville Public Library is pleased to announce that it will reopen on Tuesday, September 8th. Library administration has established new health and safety guidelines for reopening the library such as a face covering requirement, social distancing enforcement, and a limit of 30 patrons in the library building at one time. Patrons may physically browse the shelves Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m.

Until further notice, the following library amenities will not be available:

Once the library is open, patrons will be welcomed for a one hour visit, which can be used to pick up their holds, check out materials, and request items from other libraries. Library materials can be returned to the indoor or outdoor book drops. The outdoor book drop is located in the side parking area between the library and community pool.

If a fine needs to be paid, debit or credit cards will be accepted. Cash will not be accepted until further notice. Patrons can also pay fines online through the Public Libraries of Jefferson County website at https://smartpay.jclc.org/Scripts/Smartpay/SmartPay.dll.

For added convenience, Curbside Service will continue to be offered Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Curbside appointments can be made online through the library’s website at www.trussvillelibrary.com or through the library app. Please visit the library’s website for updated curbside service information!

Lastly, Trussville Public Library will offer interactive and engaging programming for all ages! Be on the lookout for a variety of programming that will be advertised on the library’s website, social media platforms, local newspapers, and the library’s monthly newsletter.
