HS sports recap: Huskies football rolls

Here's a look back at the week in high school sports at Hewitt-Trussville, Clay-Chalkville and Pinson Valley.


FOOTBALL

The Hewitt-Trussville football team started out 1-0 in Class 7A, Region 3 play, with a blowout win over Oak Mountain.

Clay-Chalkville was dominant in a region-opening win over Pell City as well.

This Friday, Hewitt-Trussville travels to Tuscaloosa County, while Clay-Chalkville heads to Pinson Valley for a region contest and rivalry game.


VOLLEYBALL

The Hewitt-Trussville volleyball team is off to its best start in years, posting a 12-3 record through the first few weeks. Last week, the Huskies split a tri-match, falling to Springville and beating Oxford. In their first Class 7A, Area 6 match, they fell to Chelsea 3-1. 

This week, Hewitt hosts Spain Park on Tuesday and travels to Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa for a tri-match with the Patriots and Lamar County. Over the weekend, the Huskies play in the Leeds Tournament.
