Sara Phillips fired a complete game, allowing a pair of runs on 4 hits over 7 innings.

Hewitt-Trussville took care of business in the second game, beating Spain Park 7-3 to take the regional title. Olivia Faggard was big at the plate, finishing a home run shy of the cycle. She racked up 3 hits, including a double and a triple, and drove home 3 runs. Kelly, Reeves and Phillips all finished with 2 hits and an RBI. Phillips threw 5 2/3 innings in relief, allowing an unearned run on 3 hits, striking out 10 batters as well.

Hewitt-Trussville will play in the state tournament at Choccolocco Park in Oxford this Friday and Saturday.
