TCS hires new public relations supervisor

Trussville City Schools is pleased to announce Jason Gaston as the new Public Relations Supervisor for TCS. The Board of Education voted to employ Gaston at its monthly meeting December 14, 2020.

Gaston holds a Master of Science in Strategic Communication from Troy University and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Freed-Hardeman University. In addition, Mr. Gaston is accredited in Public Relations through the Universal Accreditation Board with APR Certification.

Gaston currently serves as the District Coordinator of Public Relations for Hoover City Schools. He has held that position for the last 14 years. Before that time, he was a television news reporter for ABC 33/40 in Birmingham, WAFF 48 in Huntsville and WBBJ ABC 7 in Jackson, Tenn.

Leadership positions include Southeast Vice President for National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA), current President of the Alabama School Public Relations Association (ALSPRA) and Board of Directors for the Hoover Branch of the Greater Birmingham YMCA. Gaston was named Hoover City Schools Employee of the Year for 2019.
