Students’ artwork selected for exhibits

Several students have had their artwork chosen for local and state exhibits.

HTMS student Ella Claire Allen and Paine Elementary third grader Carter Jones both had work on display in the Birmingham Museum of Art’s Youth Art Month exhibition during the month of March.

The Alabama State Council on the Arts selected two HTMS students as finalists in its Visual Arts Achievement Program (VAAP). Sammy Woodward, 7th grade, was selected for middle school printmaking and Mallory Whitt, 8th grade, for middle school mixed media.

Their work was on display at a reception at Birmingham Museum of Art on March 6 before going to the state competition in Montgomery.
