When Hewitt-Trussville High School seniors left school March 13, they had no idea that they would never again see all of their their fellow classmates in the classrooms and hallways of HTHS.

But on June 16 at the Hewitt-Trussville Stadium, the HTHS Class of 2020 was able to have a traditional graduation ceremony as the school held its 93rd commencement ceremony.

Despite completing the last nine weeks of school from home because of the novel coronavirus pandemic, 369 HTHS seniors graduated in the class of 2020. The class' graduation rate was 97%.

Senior class president Marit Wessel welcomed the audience and led them in the Pledge of Allegiance. SCA president Emma Jennings gave the benediction.

Salutatorians were Olivia Grigsby and Brooke Bailey. Valedictorians were Zachary McBride and Camden DeSimone.

Of the 369 graduates, 32 were honor graduates, meaning they achieved a GPA of 4.0 or above. Another 38 were honor graduates with distinction, meaning they achieved a GPA of 4.25 or above.
