HTHS girls part of "Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day"

Seventeen girls from the Hewitt-Trussville High School Engineering Academy attended the Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day at McWane Science Center on Feb. 8.

Students watched the Imax movie “Dream Big,” which highlights the valuable contributions that civil engineers have on the world. The engineering students also met with several professional women who are working in various fields of engineering here in the Birmingham area.

Many of the students remarked that they were inspired by the life stories shared by the local engineers.
