The Hewitt-Trussville High School Electrathon team recently traveled to the Barber Motorsports Park to compete. Their two cars finished in two races without any major problems, completing a total of 24 laps (about 57 miles) with the girls’ car and 23 laps (about 55 miles) with the boys’ car. The team was excited to walk away with a third-place trophy, especially with the level of competition at this year’s race. The team had a successful year with a third place finish at Jasper and a third place finish at Barber’s. The students are coached by Jason Dooley and Chris Bond.
