Armstrong named TCSF executive director

Leslie Armstrong has been named the new executive director of the Trussville City Schools Foundation and began in her role in January. Armstrong replaces Heather Sandifer, who resigned the position upon her family’s relocation to Georgia. Sandifer served on the foundation’s Board of Directors from 2010- 12 when she filled the role as the executive director.

Armstrong, a graduate of Auburn University, has a professional background in the field of education as a teacher and counselor as well as in health care in community outreach. She volunteered in various capacities at Paine Elementary and was on the Eastern Women’s Committee of Fifty. Leslie is married to Craig Armstrong, a 1995 graduate of Hewitt-Trussville High School, and they have twin daughters in the seventh grade at Hewitt-Trussville Middle School and a son in ninth grade at HTHS.

Serving TCSF on the Board of Directors for 2019-20 are President Kendra Rushing, Vice President Jeremy Tuggle, Treasurer Jasen White, Secretary Patrick Campbell, Johnny Amari, Armmon Carter, April Chamberlain, Heath Hood, Heather Johnson, Lee Lesley, Lee Marlow, Cassandra Ridley and Chris Theriot.
