Trussville City Fest Line-up is Announced

by

The 38th Annual Trussville City Fest will be held on May 5. This year’s festival will run from 1-9 p.m. and will be capped off by fireworks.

This year’s headliner is Sweet Tea Trio. Alabama natives and now Nashville-residents, Sweet Tea Trio opened for and performed with Kid Rock in Michigan and Indiana last year. They were chosen by LiveNation to be the opener for Bon Jovi in Birmingham and also performed at the CMA Music Fest in Nashville. The Trio signed an agreement with Kid Rock and Vector Management earlier this year.

Sweet Tea Trio will perform at 8 p.m. on the CenturyLink Stage.

Opening for Sweet Tea Trio will be local favorite Jackson Capps. A passionate musician since age 8, Jackson Capps made his Nashville debut at 10 years old playing at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge. Two years later, he performed on the Grand Ole Opry stage. Jackson will perform at 6:45 p.m.

Other local performers are still being confirmed. In addition to musical entertainment, there will be free kids’ activities and plenty of food, human-sized “hamster balls,” a balloon twister, a magician, face painting, demonstrations and more.

Vendor spaces and volunteer opportunities are still available.

Admission to the festival is $5 per person. A paid admission also includes a coupon for a complimentary Coca-Cola brand soft drink. Children 2 and under are admitted free, and all kids’ activities are free. And be sure to pick up one of the official City Fest t-shirts for only $10!
