Rotary club receives awards

The Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club was recently presented with several district awards, which were selected at the multi-district conference in Biloxi, Mississippi in June.

The awards included a presidential citation from District Governor Sue Mitchell. Other awards received were:

Membership Growth — the club grew from small club status, with less than 50 members, to large club status, with almost 60 members.

Arbor Tree Planting — the club planted almost 60 trees in response to the Rotary International President’s challenge.

Interact/Rotaract Club Sponsorship — working with a youth club at Hewitt-Trussville Middle School.

RYLA — the club sponsored local students to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards conference in Huntsville.

Public Image award — promotion of Rotary in the club’s local community.

Vibrant Club Award — in recognition of the club’s programs and activities.

Rotarian Mary Jean Sanspree was presented the Leadership Recognition Award for 2018, and Rotary Assistant District Governor Danny Cooner was presented the Rotary Foundation Service Award.
