Grace Community Church at Deerfoot in Trussville introduced its newest associate pastor, Jordan Self, recently.

He and his wife Hannah have three children: Solomon, Grace and Afton. Self was raised in Bolivia, where his parents served as missionaries for over 20 years. When he wasn’t in the mission field, he spent time in Clay.

Jordan and Hannah Self served for several years in youth ministry before ministering to missionary kids at the Christian Academy of Guatemala in Guatemala City. It was there that he saw a great need for Christian counseling and trained to begin a counseling ministry.

After four and a half years there, Self became the Camino Global Director of Missionary Kid Care, where he helped missionary kids and their families. In the beginning of 2019, Camino Global merged with the mission organization Avant, based in Kansas City, Missouri.

For a couple years, Self had been preparing for local church ministry and the merger helped him make the decision to join Grace Community Church at Deerfoot.

Grace Community Church at Deerfoot has long been a supporter of the Self family through prayer, finances and friendships. Coming to Grace Community Church is like coming home for them, and Jordan is looking forward to serving the church and reaching out to the community.
