Miss Trussville inspires students to think Before You Post

Kayla Repasky, Miss Trussville 2017

Kayla Repasky, Miss Trussville 2017, has spent the past three years on a campaign that she created to inspire all social media users to use the Internet in a positive way and combat cyber-bullying. The program concentrates on character traits of kindness and responsibility for young people.

Kayla conducted "THINK Before You Post" seminars with the participants at the Trussville YMCA’s after-school program, in addition to children at area schools. Recently, she held a THINK Before You Post Community Awareness Booth at the Trussville Chamber of Commerce’s Spring Carnival.

Her next community booth will be at YMCA of Greater Birmingham’s Healthy Kids Day that will be held at the YMCA Youth Center from on April 28th at 4:30pm.

Kayla is a junior majoring in nursing at the University of Alabama. At UA, she is a member of the Order of Omega, Golden Key and Phi Sigma Theta national honor societies. She is a UA Peer Leader and a member of Alpha Phi sorority.

“I believe if people are using the Internet to define who they are, let’s make it positive”, Kayla said.

Kayla will represent the City of Trussville at the Miss Alabama Pageant in June.
