Ice cream competition winners announced

Who doesn’t like ice cream? Everybody at the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce office did on July 30, when the chamber held its third annual ice cream social and competition.

The competition was fierce, as several local companies prepared their best freezer of homemade ice cream and vied for the coveted “Golden Scoop Award.” Attendees were invited to vote for their favorites.  

The winners were announced at the chamber’s August luncheon. Winners were: Elmcroft of Grayson Valley, 1st place; BB&T, 2nd place; and a tie for 3rd place went to Bryant Bank and Trussville Gas & Water. A cash prize of $75 and the “Golden Scoop” were presented to the first place winner, and second place received $50. All winners received certificates.

The ice cream social was sponsored by Impact CPA.
