The Arts Council of the Trussville Area (ACTA) kicks off its 2018-19 season with a fall production of “Addams Family: The Musical,” beginning this month.

The script centers around Wednesday’s budding romance, as she and her boyfriend learn families can have different definitions of “normal.” Paige Turner has been tapped to direct the upcoming production. With more than 20 years’ experience, Turner has directed multiple plays and musicals for the organization.

“It’s important for people to understand that this is truly a community theater. We’re not looking for professional actors, but we are looking for the community’s best,” Turner said.

Performance dates are scheduled for Sept. 28 through Oct. 7. Tickets can be purchased individually or as part of season ticket packages, which begin at $45 for four productions.

Additional productions scheduled for the season include a modern retelling of “A Christmas Carol” and a February offering of “Cheaper By The Dozen.” The season will conclude in April with “Little Women.”

ACTA Theatre is at 225 Parkway Drive. For ticket information, visit actatheater.com, call 655-3902 or email info@actatheater.com.
