AAI chairman speaks to Rotary on alliance for Alabama’s infrastructure

by

The Alliance for Alabama’s Infrastructure (AAI) is leading the charge for a high-quality transportation system. The coalition is working toward responsible investment of dollars in the state’s transportation system.

The Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club heard an update on AAI from Jim Page, chairman of the AAI board of directors and president/CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama, at its weekly meeting on July 18.

According to Page, there are several reasons to support this initiative:

Protect ourselves and our children — One-third of all crashes are due to faulty road systems.

Invest in our state — Highway accessibility is the second most important factor in attracting businesses.

Make a better quality of life for Alabama — Approximately $320/year is spent toward repairing cars damaged on Alabama roads and highways.

Their tagline is ‘Our roads. Our future. Our responsibility.’ For more information on AAI, visit alabamaroads.org.

The Daybreak Club meets at the Trussville Civic Center located at 5381 Trussville Clay Road at 7 a.m. on Wednesday mornings.
