ABC 33/40 anchor Brenda Ladun will be the featured speaker at the Trussville-Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon, sponsored by Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens. The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Trussville Civic Center, 5381 Trussville-Clay Road.

Ladun has been a TV news reporter and anchor in Birmingham for two decades, winning numerous Alabama Associated Press Awards including honors for Best Investigative Reporter, Best Specialized Reporter and Best Anchor.

In 2001 and 2007, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since her first diagnosis, Ladun has become an advocate for fighting cancer, including hosting events in Birmingham the past 14 years with the American Cancer Society.

“I’m more determined now than ever before to reduce pain and suffering caused from this illness,” she said in June in a statement related to her latest event, Brenda Ladun’s Decade Dash & Block Party to Conquer Cancer.

To register, visit trussvillechamber.com or contact June Mathews by phone at 655-7535 or email june.mathews@trussvillechamber.com.

Cost for the luncheon is $17, with a processing fee for credit cards. Online registration is closed at midnight Sept. 17, but the office will accept registration by phone until noon Sept. 18. All non-members must pay in advance.
