Trussville City Fest, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10, will span areas throughout downtown Trussville.

The central hub for information, a wellness area and volunteer check-in will be located at the Veterans’ Memorial Monument on Parkway Drive. The hub will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The festival will start near the Trussville Entertainment District and end at Veterans’ Park on Parkway Drive. A farmer’s market is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon at 150 Main St. by Hitchcock Maddox Financial Partners. A marketplace for booth vendors will be set up from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the grassy field by Holy Cross Episcopal Church. This same area will include a food court, open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additionally, a pup strut event is planned for this area.

A kids/family area will be set up from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Civitan Park near the Veterans’ Memorial Monument on Parkway Drive. An art walk is planned at 209 Main St., near Three-Earred Rabbit. A cruise-in will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Bryant Bank parking lot at 137 Main St.

“Each year we’re moving City Fest a little closer to our goal of making it as much of a music festival as anything else,” said Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director June Mathews. “We’ll have bands onstage at the Entertainment District Friday night and Saturday night. During the day Saturday, there’ll be a bluegrass band at the library, and the Downtown Merchants [Association] are hosting the Kool Kats and a jug band on the empty lot next door to the Three-Earred Rabbit. And as always, we’ll have a full lineup of bands and other local entertainment on the festival stage. With all the kids’ activities, food trucks, and booth vendors, it’s going to be great fun.”

Electric Avenue, “The 80s MTV Experience,” is the headlining musical event for the Entertainment District stage.

“The City Fest Committee is working hard to make all this and more happen, and we’re really excited about how things are coming together,” Mathews said. “We hope everybody will want to come out, bring the family, and enjoy the day.”
