The Trussville Tennis Association donates memorial bench to Trussville Racquet Club

The Trussville Tennis Association recently paid tribute to Mary Jones Shelton by donating a memorial bench to the Trussville Racquet Club honoring Mary’s memory and her contributions to the game of tennis.  

The ceremony was held on Dec. 15 at the Trussville Racquet Club. On hand for the celebration were Shelton’s family and numerous friends. After the unveiling of the bench, guests were invited to have pizza and cake and fellowship together.

Shelton was an avid tennis player for most of her adult life. She also captained many tennis teams and was one of the founding members of the Trussville Tennis Association. She passed away in April of this year. The Tennis Association also provided new tennis valets and trash receptacles for the tennis courts.
