The Trussville City Schools Foundation has impacted Trussville City Schools by seeking to provide funds for classroom needs that are not covered in the Trussville City School System’s general budget.

Needs are identified by foundation members, Superintendent Pattie Neill and other TCS administrators.

TCSF Director of Operations Heather Sandifer said the foundation has a new grant program that is providing funding of classroom projects.

The MUSH (Motivational, Unique, Strategic and Helpful) Grant program allows teachers to apply for up to $1,000 to jump start innovative teaching ideas throughout Trussville City Schools.

“We hold a gala every August to raise money for the TCS teachers and the sports program,” Sandifer said. “This has always been a casual event. This year, we wanted to do something a little different and host a formal event where everyone could dress up, come out and have a good time.”

The foundation will hold its first Masquerade Ball on March 3. “There will be cocktails, dinner and dancing,” Sandifer said.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. at Grayson Valley Country Club. Tickets are $250 per couple, which includes dinner and four drink tickets. Formal attire and masks are suggested.

Hewitt-Trussville National Honor Society Art students will be designing and creating masquerade masks for this event, according to Sandifer.

This event is limited to 100 tickets, so Sandifer said to reserve quickly. For more information on the ball, visit tcsf.org. To purchase tickets, call Sandifer at 228-3050.
