The second annual Smokin’ & Stokin’ BBQ Cook-Off is set for Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Trussville Civic Center.

The event, presented by the Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club, will last from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Approximately 40 teams will compete in a cook-off to see who has the best ribs, pork and chicken.

Admission is $5 and includes all kids’ activities, barbecue sampling and entertainment. There will also be food trucks, beer, wine and soft drinks.

Proceeds from the cook-off will fund the Rotary Daybreak Club’s projects, including scholarships, leadership opportunities for local high school students, books for elementary students, ribbons at Trussville City Hall in recognition of Veterans Day, lunch for campers and staff at Smile-a-Mile, trees planted at Civitan Park and more.
