The 10th Annual Paws for a Cause Gala will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, at 6 p.m. at the Trussville Civic Center.

The fundraising event is a joint initiative between Trussville City Schools Foundation and the Trussville City Schools Athletic Foundation, who split the event proceeds then divvy them among the various schools and programs.

Ticket prices are $150 per pair or $600 for a table of eight. Each ticket includes dinner, bingo with door prizes and entry into a $10,000 drawdown.

“At the beginning of the evening, everyone’s names are in the pot. As you go through the evening, tickets are drawn out from the pot. Once they’re down to 10 names, the people are brought on stage until the final winner is selected for the $10,000 cash prize,” TSCF Board President Kendra Rushing said.

Rushing said door prizes and silent auction packages aren’t yet confirmed for this year’s event, but past items have included a Green Egg cooker, Iron Bowl tickets, vacation packages, rounds of golf at Ross Bridge and Husky Pride packages with tailgating gear and game day attire.

The event has sold out for the past four years, so those interested in attending are encouraged to purchase tickets early. For those unable to attend, the website provides opportunity for singular and recurring donations.
