The Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club inducted its board and officers for the 2017-18 year at its weekly meeting June 28.

Serving as club president is Diane Poole of the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce, and President-Elect is Sandra Vernon of Trussville City Schools. Ken Vaughan of Jefferson County Housing Authority is the President-nominee; Tommy Trimm of Trimm Design Build is Past President; Secretary is John Griscom (retired); Treasurer is Jeremy Tuggle of Bryant Bank; and Sergeant-at-Arms is Alan Taylor of First Baptist Church Trussville.

Committee chairs make up the remaining board members for the club. Board members for the coming year are: membership, Vic Modic (Amerex Corporation); community service, Tommy Trimm; international service, Pat McTamney (Parcels Too Business Services); Rotary Foundation, Frank Jett (retired); student and youth services, Ty Williams (Restoration Academy); and public image, Diane Poole.

In addition, the Club inducted Danny Cooner (Safety First) as assistant governor for District 6860. Danny is the fifth assistant governor for this club. It is very unusual for a club of any size — especially as club classified by Rotary International as a small club — to have four past assistant governors.

The club meets at Spare Time Entertainment, 3600 Roosevelt Blvd., at 7 a.m. on Wednesdays. For more information about the club, visit trussvillerotaryclub.org or email Diane Poole at diane.poole@trussvillechamber.com.
