The Summer Reading events at Clay Public Library has doubled in attendance from previous years, which Library Director Holly Flores attributes primarily to their new location.

“In our previous location, we had to hold our Summer Reading events outside, and I think the heat kept people away, which is understandable,” Flores said.

Intending to continue with the momentum from their summer events, the library plans to increase the frequency of its upcoming fall events.

The third annual International Tea Party will be offered in September. Though a date has not been determined, the agenda will follow previous years in that snacks and tea from five countries will be available for sampling, as well as information related to the country.

In addition to seeking assistance from volunteer instructors needed to for the addition of knitting and computer classes, Flores said they are also open to programming ideas from the community.

“If there is a skill that you offer, we’d love to work with you and create a program around it,” she said.

Frequent visits to claylibrary.com are recommended as events are added to the fall calendar. Those interested can also contact 680-3812 for more information.
