Whether you enjoy seeing classic cars from the 1930s or the latest Corvette, the Trussville Downtown Merchants Association has extended its summer show to every Second Saturday Downtown summer event.

“Come out and have good, free family fun. We’re trying to get a bunch of people together and utilize the downtown merchants for people to see what Trussville is all about. It brings out good people,” said Trussville native Ronnie Foster, who helps organize the car show.

Those visiting the Second Saturday Downtown events in Trussville (remaining dates are July 14, Aug. 11 and Sept. 8) can cruise through the Bryant Bank area to view the cars from 4-8 p.m. while enjoying music from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s. Foster said the events has had anywhere from 30 to 100 cars in the past and hopes to see a good turnout as the new breweries and other new downtown businesses open this summer.

“It’s some of the best cars and best music out there,” Foster said. “It’s for all generations.”

This month’s Second Saturday Downtown will be Trussville Gives Back Day. August will be “Get Down in Downtown,” with September labeled as a tailgate event.
