The Arts Council of the Trussville Area (ACTA) Theatre’s summer production of “Brigadoon” follows New Yorkers Tommy and Jeff, who are vacationing in the Scottish Highlands when a misstep lands them in Brigadoon.

Enchanted by the village and its inhabitants, Tommy falls in love with Fiona before learning that Brigadoon is held timeless by appearing only one day every 100 years. Tommy is forced to choose between returning to the familiarity of New York or the unknown possibilities available through a mysterious life in Brigadoon.

The production marks Michael Bridge’s 11th director credit at ACTA. His continued commitment to the theater is inspired by “not just the family atmosphere, but also because ACTA wants their shows to be the very best. I appreciate that,” Bridges said.

He added: “It’s a good place not only for veterans to the theater to showcase their talent, but also where a newcomer can feel comfortable trying out for the very first time.”

“Brigadoon” runs July 12-14 and 19-21. Weekday performances are 7 p.m. with Sunday performances at 2:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online.

Season ticket packages beginning at $45 are also available online. “Clue” will kick off the season in late September. The holiday favorite “A Christmas Story” will run in December followed by “Frozen Jr.” in February. “Deadwood Dick” will conclude the season in April.

ACTA Theatre is located at 225 Parkway Drive. Visit actatheater.com for ticket purchases and show times. For more information, email info@actatheater.com or call 655-3902.
