About 225 people attended the ninth Annual TASTE, Trussville’s Art Show and Tasting Event. The food-tasting event was held on Aug. 17 at the Trussville Civic Center and produced by the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce.

This year, TASTE featured food samples from 13 area restaurants and bakeries, a live art demonstration, live entertainment and a cash bar. The event was sponsored by Amerex Corporation.

Other sponsors included: The Trussville Tribune (wristband sponsor); BancorpSouth (dance floor sponsor); Bryant Bank (reserved table sponsor); and Alabama Power Company, Anytime Fitness, and Tice & Associates (cocktail table sponsors).

James Crumb, Jr. and Kelvin Benion provided the evening’s entertainment, performing superb jazz that wowed the crowd. Local artist Kathy Prince continued the unique tradition of live art demonstration during this food tasting event. Water color painting and colored pencils are Kathy’s media of choice.

In addition, there were door prizes and the first 100 attendees received a souvenir wine glass.

A portion of the proceeds from TASTE helps to fund scholarships for local students.
