Women in Business: Women of Chamber of Commerce - Trussville

Executive Director Diane Poole and her staff of two at the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) work hard to provide TACC member businesses with opportunities to make valuable contacts, showcase their products and services, learn new skills and take advantage of the chamber’s referral network.

They also plan and carry out a lineup of community events comparable to that of some of the largest chambers of commerce in Alabama.

With Melissa Walker serving as event coordinator and June Mathews as membership coordinator, the three function as an efficient team of business support, fundraising, community relations, media relations, event planning, event promotion and program development.

“Our goal is to help foster growth and development in our local business community, and we accomplish much of that by being an event-driven entity,” Poole said. “So in addition to supporting economic development and promoting our member businesses, we coordinate Trussville City Fest, the Maple Leaf Run, the Trussville Christmas parade and other events, providing great ways for our members to market to the community.”

“Melissa, June and I live in Trussville, so we have a vested interest in helping our city be the best it can be,” she added. “I believe I speak for all of us when I say it’s an honor to play a role in making it happen.”
