Women in Business: Linda Burns - Keller Williams Realty

“My 31 years of being a Realtor has taught me why I love my job,” said Linda Burns, a real estate agent with Keller Williams. “No matter how I plan my day, my schedule may change at a moment’s notice. Every day is different.”

The real estate world is constantly changing, she said. “I love learning all the cutting-edge technology and employing those assistants who do it ‘oh so well,’” she said.

Despite real estate having had its shifting markets, Burns has sustained her multimillion-dollar production level through the downward cycle, all with the help of her creativity and contacts. One major accomplishment is securing the Birmingham Board of Realtors Club of Excellence Award every year since 1989.

Most of her business comes from personal referrals, networking and relocations. “I love to ‘make friends and sell homes,’” Burns said. “Clients want to do business with someone they trust, has experienced negotiating skills and truly has their best interest at heart. THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR EXPERIENCE.”

She has heavily relied on her advertising and public relations degree from the University of Alabama to market properties and attract buyers for her client’s homes.

“Working full time is a given and allows me to have the personal hands-on service that I believe is lacking, yet desired, by most clients,” Burns said. “I have a tremendous work ethic and energy level that exceeds most, and is necessary in this fast-paced industry.”

Some of her accomplishments include being past president of Trussville Daybreak Rotary Club, past board member for St. Vincent’s Hospital, the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Trussville Literary Club, past PR Committee for Birmingham Board of Realtors and a member of First Baptist Church of Trussville.

“I also hope to continue contributing to the needs of soldiers and the military,” Burns said. “I have a son in the Army currently serving in Guam after three deployments. The Yellow Ribbon Campaign is still going strong per Rotary. The idea sparked when my son was deployed to Iraq.”

Burns’ goals are to continue growing her business, developing win-win relationships with her clients and working for a company that appreciates her production level, loyalty and hard work.

“I am especially grateful to a loving family that has offered support over the years, whether it be installing signs or moving furniture for staging,” Burns said. “Thank you Jimmy, Justen, Jennifer and Jonathan.”
