Women in Business: Katie Boswell - RealtySouth

As she nears her second year in the business, RealtySouth’s Katie Boswell said she is settling into life as a Realtor in her hometown of Trussville. 

“It’s a lot of fun, and I enjoy it,” Boswell said. “It has made me a more confident and level-headed person.”

Boswell graduated in 2012 from UAB with a history degree, and said reflections on her past year show some major successes. 

“I sold as many houses in the first quarter of this year as I did last year total,” Boswell said. 

Her goals now include closing one house per month. 

“I want to do that so I can save some money and start traveling,” Boswell said. “My family took a trip out west last year, and it was so beautiful. I want to make it to the Grand Canyon next.”

Her favorite part of the real estate business is helping people. 

“It’s good to connect and work toward a goal together,” Boswell said. “A lot of my buyers are younger, first-time homebuyers. It’s very rewarding to help someone with that chapter of their life.”

Challenges in her business include getting new business in a competitive market. 

“I also like that I’m always learning something new,” Boswell said. “Every step of the way in this process, I am learning.”
