Walmart Trussville announces online grocery pickup

by

The Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) hosted a ribbon cutting on Feb. 22 to announce Online Grocery Pickup for WalMart in Trussville. In addition to the ribbon cutting, there was also a DJ supplied by Coca-Cola, and several vendors were onsite giving away items.

Online grocery pickup provides the customer the opportunity to do all their grocery ordering from their smart phone, tablet or computer. WalMart’s team of associates will do the shopping for them just like a personal shopper. As the customer heads to the store, they can sign in with remote check-in, which will notify the store of the customer’s arrival. The customer will be directed where to park, and their items will be delivered to and loaded into the car. If customers want to come into the store anyway, they can still check in and their merchandise will be loaded for them. This process will save the customers time and will offer convenience at no extra cost, as the service is absolutely free.

On-hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony were Trussville Mayor Buddy Choat; Councilman Perry Cook; TACC Executive Director Diane Poole; TACC Board President Jeremy Tuggle; TACC Board Members Jay Mather, Debra McCarley and Lynn Middleton; Chamber ambassadors Ken Gerlach, Natalie Norton and Meagan Doonan Welch; Jimmy Moody, Food Co-Manager; Brian Robinson, GM Co-Manager; Jacquetta Washington, OGP Assistant Manager; and a host of WalMart management and associates (not shown: John Welsh, Store Manager, and John Tow, Market Manager).
