2. Tractor Supply Company is one of three new businesses that will soon occupy the old Kmart building at 5980 Chalkville Mountain Road. It will be the fourth Tractor Supply store in the Birmingham area.

5. The McPherson Companies, 5061 Cardinal St., celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. McPherson Oil is a second-generation, family-owned and -operated petroleum distributor in the Southeast, headquartered in Trussville. 205-661-4400

6. Sheepdog Firearms has closed after four years of operation. The store’s last day open was March 19.
