A popular recreation retailer has moved to a new location.

In mid-July, Alabama Outdoors opened the doors to its new store at 5467 Patrick Way in the recently completed Homestead Village Shopping Center off U.S. 11. It is located between Five Below andUlta Beauty.

Previously, the store was located at 4710 Frank St. near Momma Goldberg’s Deli.

“We love serving the city of Trussville,” said Will Ansley, an Alabama Outdoors representative. “We saw moving to Homestead Village as a great opportunity to serve our customers better. With a larger space, we are able to offer a wider selection of brands and style to a growing community.”

Alabama Outdoors opened its original Trussville location in 2011 as one of its six storefronts across the state. There are also locations in Florence, Huntsville, Homewood, Inverness and Mobile.

Alabama Outdoors sells a variety of merchandise and gear related to active, outdoor lifestyles. Popular brands include Patagonia, True Grit, Southern Marsh, YETI, Birkenstock, Lucy Activewear, The North Face, Osprey and more.

Since its July 19 opening, Trussville store manager Christopher Renda said he’s noticed an uptick in customer traffic compared to the previous location. During the back-to-school rush in early August, he said the increase was especially evident. Renda credited the new store’s visibility and parking availability as two factors contributing to the bump.

The previous location was more tucked away, he said, and lacked the number of parking spaces that patrons now haveaccess to.

Renda and Ansley both said they have heard positive reviews from customers about Alabama Outdoors’ new digs.  Renda said people who have shopped at both the previous and current locations like the spacious new layout.

“Local feedback has been great. Many customers have expressed how much they like the new location,” Ansley said. “It seems to be more at the center of what is happening in Trussville and close to other great retailers.”

HomeGoods, Petco and Hobby Lobby also have storefronts at Homestead Village, which opened earlier this year.

Store hours for Alabama Outdoors are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, call 655-6025 or visit alabamaoutdoors.com.
