Some events in life make you step back and regain proper perspective on certain things.

One of those occurred recently, as multiple tornadoes affected the greater Birmingham area March 25. Extensive damage occurred in the Eagle Point community near Oak Mountain and another tornado affected the Roebuck area. One of those storms had Trussville in its path, but thankfully, our community only suffered relatively minor damage.

We get so caught up in our own lives and the day-to-day responsibilities that come along with it. We have things to do and people to see. We are attempting to move back toward normalcy as we see the light at the end of the tunnel of the pandemic. The word “go” is a defining characteristic for many of us.

But sometimes it’s a good idea to take a step back and remind ourselves of the important things. Remember our blessings and extend a helping hand to those neighbors in need.
