Trussville City Schools announced on Sunday morning that "after recent updates and careful consideration," all Trussville schools would close, effective immediately.
The governor on Friday had declared a state of emergency and ordered that all public schools in Alabama close beginning at the close of business on Wednesday, March 18, and stay closed at least until Monday, April 6.
Twelve-month employees at TCS should report to their school/department site Monday only to prepare for the long-term closure.
The release from Superintendent Pattie Neill also stated, "Trussville City Schools will use our mass communication system, the TCS website, and In the Loop to inform parents of additional information during the closure."
