The Trussville Hot Shots 3-v-3 soccer team is heading to a national tournament.
The 14-year-old boys, a team since 2022, are currently the top-ranked 3-v-3 14-year-old team in Alabama and second-ranked team in the nation and will compete in the national championship tournament in Foley Nov. 30 – Dec. 1. The team earned the invite by winning the Southern Regional Championship Tournament this year.
The Hot Shots have also won the Birmingham United Soccer Association Shootout and Trussville Under the Lights tournaments. The team has a 10-1 record this year.
Team members are Logan Colburn (Trussville), Ethan Gee (Trussville), Anthony Maio (Trussville), Jozy Hicks (Homewood), Adam Tullis (Gardendale), and Emiliano Morales-Lopez (Vestavia Hills). The boys are coached by head coach Patrick Tidwell and assistant coach Adam Colburn, both of Trussville.
