The 2025 high school football officially concluded last weekend with two postseason all-star games, which featured plenty of talent from Hewitt-Trussville and Clay-Chalkville.
On Friday, the North team defeated the South 41-28 in the annual AHSAA North-South All-Star Game at the University of South Alabama. Clay-Chalkville quarterback Aaron Frye was named the MVP of the game after totaling five touchdowns. He completed 11-of-18 passes for 145 yards and two scores through the air, while rushing 23 times for 93 yards and touchdown runs of 1, 5 and 18 yards.
Clay-Chalkville defensive back Xavier Starks was on the team as well. Representing Hewitt-Trussville, Woogie Crawford intercepted a pass and finished with seven tackles. Fellow Huskies linebacker Parker Floyd was in the game as well.
The Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic was played Saturday at Southern Miss, with Alabama cruising to a 40-10 win and stretching its lead in the series to 28-11.
Clay-Chalkville's Corey Barber caught a touchdown pass from Spain Park's Brock Bradley, whom he played with during his junior season.
Offensive lineman JT Jones also represented the Cougars, with Hewitt-Trussville's Dylan Cope and Deuce Alston also playing for Alabama.
