Kennedy Gill is a senior and a shooting guard on Hewitt-Turssville High School’s girls basketball team. In this interview, she shares what she wants to accomplish this season and talk about why she roots for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Q: Introduce yourself.
A: My name is Kennedy Gill. I play for Hewitt-Trussville High School. I'm a shooting guard, and I'm a senior.
Q: What are your goals for this season?
A: My goals for this season are to be more aggressive, become a threat on offense and defense and help my team win state.
Q: What is your earliest memory of basketball?
A: My earliest memory of basketball was when I played for Upward in the second grade. I was the tallest girl on the court, and I scored all of our points.
Q: What’s the most impressive thing you’ve done on a basketball court?
A: The most impressive thing I've done on the basketball court was, I remember, my freshman year we were playing Park Crossing and I hit a half-court shot right before the quarter ended.
Q: What is your favorite sports team? Why do you root for them?
A: My favorite sports team is the Cleveland Cavaliers because they have fought through adversity over the past few years dealing with injured players, but they are finally making a comeback.
Q: Who wins the NBA title this year?
A: I think the Cleveland Cavaliers are gonna win the NBA title because they are15-0 as of right now, and they are a model team for perseverance.
