The Clay-Chalkville High girls tennis team was second in the county tournament on April 10.
GARDENDALE -- The Clay-Chalkville High School girls tennis team capped off a solid season after finishing second in the Jefferson County tournament on April 10 at Moncrief Park in Gardendale.
The Lady Cougars had three singles champions and a pair of doubles champions. Kelsey Henderson won the No. 2 singles bracket, Chyna Bates won at No. 3 and Kristian Smith was victorious in No. 4 singles.
Britney Ryals and Henderson teamed up to win the top doubles bracket, while Bates and Smith won at No. 2 doubles. Ryals also was the runner-up at No. 1 singles.
The Lady Cougars were coached by Pam Kohlenberg and 2017 Clay-Chalkville graduate Laura Lopresti.
