The Alabama Sports Writers Association released its annual preseason high school football poll Wednesday morning.
Hewitt-Trussville and Clay-Chalkville will begin the year ranked in the top five of their respective classes. The Huskies enter the 2025 season ranked No. 5 in Class 7A, while Clay-Chalkville is preseason No. 2 in 6A.
Both teams kick off their seasons Aug. 22. Hewitt hosts JAG out of Montgomery, while Clay travels to Hueytown.
Here are the full Class 6A and 7A rankings:
CLASS 7A
2024 champion: Thompson

2. Central-Phenix City (1); 10-3
