The weekly Alabama Sports Writers Association high school football poll was released Wednesday morning.
Hewitt-Trussville has risen to become the No. 1 team in Class 7A, following another win to improve to 6-0 on the season.
Clay-Chalkville remains the No. 1 team in 6A, giving the two schools just a few miles apart a stranglehold on the top spots in their respective classes.
Both teams have pivotal region games this week, as the Huskies host Thompson and Clay-Chalkville heads to Mountain Brook.
