The weekly Alabama Sports Writers Association high school football poll was released Wednesday morning.
Hewitt-Trussville and Clay-Chalkville have been a consistent presence in the top half of the Class 7A and 6A poll, respectively, and that has continued into the 2025 season.
Hewitt-Trussville began the season as the No. 5 team in 7A, while Clay-Chalkville was No. 2 in 6A. Both teams won in convincing fashion in Week 1, with Hewitt shutting out JAG 54-0 and Clay beating Hueytown 42-15.
As a result, Hewitt-Trussville stayed at No. 5 in 7A and Clay-Chalkville remained at No. 2 in 6A. Hewitt-Trussville hits the road to Gadsden City and Clay-Chalkville hosts Ramsay this Friday.
