
The high school basketball postseason has arrived.
Hewitt-Trussville's boys and girls teams will be playing in the Class 7A, Area 6 tournaments soon, looking to begin a successful postseason push.
Clay-Chalkville will play in the Class 6A, Area 12 tournaments as well.
The Huskies compete in Area 6 along with Hoover, Hewitt-Trussville and Oak Mountain. The Cougars are in Area 12 with Gardendale and Pinson Valley.
The Lady Huskies finished 2-4 in area play, finishing third. Hoover won a coin toss to earn the right to host the area tournament.
Hewitt-Trussville will take on Vestavia Hills in the opening round of the area tournament Tuesday at 6 p.m., following Hoover playing Oak Mountain at 4:30 p.m. The tournament final is set for Friday at 5:30 p.m.

Clay-Chalkville's girls went 3-1, but Gardendale will host the area tournament. The Lady Cougars will play Pinson Valley on Monday at 5:30 p.m., with the winner taking on Gardendale on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the championship.
