Larry DeLucas visits with Magnolia Elementary School students.
Former NASA astronaut Larry DeLucas recently visited Magnolia Elementary School. DeLucas was a member of the seven-person crew of Space Shuttle Columbia for Mission STS-50, called the United States Microgravity Laboratory-1 Spacelab mission. Columbia launched June 25, 1992, and returned July 9 that same year. He traveled more than six million miles, completing 221 orbits of the earth and logging more than 331 hours in space.
From 1994-95, DeLucas served as the chief scientist for the International Space Station at NASA headquarters in Washington, D.C.
